So many people don't know this, but there are actual factual ways to increase your chances of conceiving a baby girl! We have chosen to try out the "Shettles Method." This method suggests that you should have intercourse three to four days before ovulation to give the female sperm a better fighting chance! This method is based on the fact that the boy sperm is smaller and faster than the girl sperm. So it is only natural to assume that having sex farther away from ovulation will favor the slower moving girl sperm! After all slow and steady does win the race, right? Well maybe...if the vagina becomes a more acidic environment!

So how do you make your..ahem...vagina a bit more acidic you ask? Well it's simple! You can change your diet! Studies show that if women consume more magnesium and calcium, the vaginal fluids will become more acidic which is not so hospitable for male sperm! So for the next several days I will be eating a plethora of the following:

1)Nuts
2)Beans
3)Green vegetables (i.e. spinach or broccoli)
4)Oatmeal
5)Yogurt (Also good for combating UTIs and vaginal yeast infections!)
6)Eggs (Lots and Lots!)

Of course my diet will not be only limited to the listed foods, but those are just some examples! The goal is for me to load up on the magnesium and calcium, and refrain from consuming too much salt and potassium that will alter the vaginal fluids to be more alkaline, thus creating a more suitable habitat for the male sperm!

My husband and I are going to begin trying to conceive December 26, 2013. I know someone else who is trying to conceive the same time as I am, but I am not going to say! It's a secret! ;) But I will tell you when they are ready to make their public announcement!

I think that this is going to take a lot of discipline! My husband and I are still young, and well we like to, you know, do the deed! We are going to have to refrain from intercourse the immediate day before ovulation, and during ovulation too! Knowing that you're not supposed to have sex, or that you can't, just is going to make us want to have sex more! I am seriously going to consider purchasing a chastity belt. Amazon.com, here I come!

P.S. YES. I am joking about the chastity belt! ;)

P.S.S. Today was the day that my husband and I began dating. Our relationship has lasted three years so far! We are very excited! We started the afternoon dining at Cracker Barrel, then later in the evening we went to this nice little Christian frozen yogurt parlor. From there we decided to shoot some pool at a local sport's bar while we waited for our movie to start at the theater. We ended the romantic night making love, and everything was beautiful! I love my husband so much, and there is no one else in the whole world that I'd rather be with! God has blessed me so much!
